The Alliance Française de Montpellier is a non-profit association, law 1901, recognized by the Fondation des Alliances Françaises.
Missions of the Alliance Française de Montpellier
- To promote the practice and knowledge of the French language among French and international audiences by all appropriate means: teaching, discovery activities, meetings, exchanges, organization of events, publications.
- Promote and disseminate Francophone cultures.
- To contribute to dialogue between cultures and to better understanding between peoples.
Thus, the Alliance Française de Montpellier offers its students French as a foreign language courses and puts them in touch with other providers: accommodation providers, organizers of cultural or sports activities, etc.
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale apply to all the services offered: French courses, accommodation, activities and associated services.
They apply whether the student subscribes directly or via an intermediary or a third-party payer.

By signing the registration form, the student unreservedly accepts these General Terms and Conditions as well as the Special Conditions.
Any intermediary or third-party payer submitting an entry also agrees to these terms.
In the event of a contradiction between the General Terms and Conditions and the Special Conditions, the latter shall prevail.
1. Admission requirements
To be admitted, the student must:
- Be 18 years old.
- Or be 16 years old with parental permission.
The student is responsible for obtaining a visa or residence permit.
The Alliance Française de Montpellier cannot be held responsible for refusals or delays in delivery.
2. Financial conditions
All services are payable in euros.
2.1 Registration Fees
A lump sum payment due only once in a one-year period from the start of the program.
These fees do not constitute membership in the association.
2.2 Tuition, Accommodation, and Activities
The prices are those displayed on the official media and the website.
- A 50 percent deposit is required at the time of booking.
- The balance must be paid no later than three weeks before the start of the course or accommodation.
- Public holidays do not give rise to any refund or postponement.
2.3 Educational Materials
Books and notebooks are not included in the tuition fee.
2.4 Cancellation fees
Cancellation fees are applied in accordance with Article 6.
2.5 Bank Charges
Bank and interbank charges are the responsibility of the payer.
2.6 Administrative Costs
Any changes or postponements will incur administrative costs.
2.7 Student Visa
A pre-registration certificate is issued upon payment of 50 per cent of the fee.
The course must have a minimum of 20 hours per week to be eligible for the student visa.

4. Registration formalities
4.1 Adult students
Registration possible:
- Online
- By email or post
- On site
Documents to be provided on the first day:
- Identification
- Passport photo
- Parental consent if 16 to 17 years old
- Proof of payment
4.2 Minor Students
Parental consent and insurance certificate are mandatory.
Otherwise, the registration cannot be validated.
4.3 Students from outside the European Economic Area
- Pre-registration certificate issued after payment of 50 percent of the fee.
- Final registration after presentation of the visa and payment of the balance.
5. Right of withdrawal
For any remote registration, the student has a period of 14 days to withdraw.
This right does not apply to accommodation, activities and services provided on a fixed date.
6. Postponement and cancellation
All requests must be sent in writing to info@af-montpellier.com.
6.1 Postponement before the start of classes
- Request at least 15 days before the start.
- Postponement possible only once within a maximum period of 6 months.
- Administrative fee: 50 euros.
6.2 Postponement after the start of classes
No postponement except in case of force majeure or serious illness justified.
6.3 Cancellation by the student
Cancellation fees are applied depending on the date of request and the nature of the services booked.
The detailed fees correspond to the internal scale of the Alliance Française de Montpellier.
6.4 Cancellation by the Alliance Française
In case of insufficient numbers, an equivalent course is offered or full reimbursement of the costs concerned.
6.5 Changing the Schedule
The Alliance Française reserves the right to modify schedules and calendars if necessary.
7. Insurance
The student must subscribe:
- Health insurance
- Accident insurance
- Liability insurance
The Alliance Française declines all responsibility in the event of loss, theft or damage to personal belongings.

8. Accommodation
Accommodation conditions are available on the website or on request.
9. Exclusion
Any breach of the internal rules may result in exclusion without refund.
